Over several years the English department at Ballard High has been developing a new way to approach research projects: Student Campaigns. Through this session you will learn how we encourage students to “be the change they hope to see in the world” by choosing topics, conducting reliable research, and creating mediums to persuade their audience to act. We ask that the students create REAL LIFE campaigns and are willing to stand behind their work in the REAL WORLD. Completed campaigns contained letters to school board members, letters to the editor, meetings with officials, and lots of memes. Please join us for some new ideas on how to revamp your traditional research paper!
